  1. How do I turn off SSL3? You updated the browser without fixing the Poodle vulnerability.

    1. Plesse have a look at issues #1449 and #1493 on https://github.com/QupZilla/QupZilla/issues.
In addition you might want to disable weak ciphers via the SSL manager.

    3. Could you please try to change the user agent to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows 7; rv:24.0) Gecko/20131101 Firefox/24.1.0 (via Preferences -> Other -> User Agent Manager).

  3. Very nice browser, thanks. Since the demise of Opera (since its v12) I was looking for something similar.

To note it seems that website using Haxe (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haxe) seems to crash the browser. (ie: http://www.kadokado.com )

If your crash is reproducible, then please open an issue (https://github.com/QupZilla/qupzilla/issues) and follow the guidelines described on the Bug-Reports wiki page.

    2. You're using 1.9
On1.8.3 it crash anytime (http://i.imgur.com/3wBORNC.png) with a brand new install , and a brand new account, with all pluging (flash, java, unity) uninstalled from the pc.

It also happend randomly on gif load from imgur. So may be it's gif related... But I never heard of such a thing. Except if somewhere on my PC there is software doing crazy stuff with gif (plausible). But I have no such issue with any other browser.

    3. If you are on Windows, you might be affected by the animated gif issue, please see http://blog.qupzilla.com/2013/03/qupzilla-141-released.html, which is still present as far as I know.

    4. Yeah I read the michael post about gif. I tried to add the "*.gif* trick into adblock before reporting the issue .. Still crashing.

On a side note, I also have an "cannot load extension " when I try to validate any extension in the pref menu.
The extension .dll (pim.dll, etc) are correctly in their folder. For some reason my windows cant find them (he could at first, then could not anymore and never had be able despite various re-install)

The password management also does not work with multi account :the key button does not appears anymore when you have various login on the same login page. It worked at first, then it didnt anymore.
I guess my regedit is corrupt or something.

Really sad, Qupzilla had all the beloved feature from old Opera (pim, nice speedial, nice password management) . And now I somehow broke it. I guess I'll try to revert my windows to an old state. And if it doesnt work I'll have to install linux... damnit

    5. 1 - Cannot load extension: Would you please have a look at https://github.com/QupZilla/qupzilla/issues/1502? Maybe this helps you out.
2 - Password Management: Please have a look at https://github.com/QupZilla/qupzilla/issues/1216.

    6. Yeah exact same 2 problems.

I reverted back to an old windows state, and in 1.6.6 everything work fine.

A propos the kadokado.com crash, I tested with javascript disabled and the site open without crashing. So it must be something in the javascript.

Anyway thanks for your time and commitment. And for the neat browser.

    2. Indeed all qt_xx.qm were removed with commit 543c3b8732952872c6a4711e0bc33f556945400b

  6. Was the 'List of tabs' button done away with? I found that quite useful. I would much prefer it to the current button of restoring closed tabs and somewhat of a redundancy when the same thing exists in History > Closed Tabs. I feel as though, at the very least, it should be optional to bring back or even just turn the current button off.

  10. Why www.Google.com's visited links are not colored? It is very annoying that the browser does not color the visited links of the most popular search engine.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I was able to reproduce your issue with QtTestBrowser to make sure, that it is related to qtwebkit. Visited links are coloured on yahoo+startpage, but not on google+duckduckgo. The result is the same for qt4 and qt5.

      Delete
    2. even if Qt cannot do this, is there no way to do this from Qupzilla itself?
like any CSS script or any GreaseMonkey script solution?

The browser is great, it takes less system resource & fast.
the only problem that bothers me, it does not color the visited links of www.google.com.

  11. Hm, obviously spell check is still not working in 1.8.3 (Ubuntu Utopic). I'm using the newest version from the nowrep repo, and hunspell is definitely installed (and the path is set correctly). Starting from the command line shows me: SpellCheck: Dictionaries for "/usr/share/hunspellde_DE" doesn't exists!
Can you give me a hint how to solve this problem. Qupzilla for me is the best browser experience so far, except this small problem. But anyway, thanks for your work on this browser.

    2. Thanks, I have seen that before. Maybe I will try to compile myself.

    3. Spellcheck will only work with qt5. Do you have qt5 installed?

      Delete
    4. I have installed qt5-default. Is it sufficient to only compile the plug-in?

      Delete
    5. The easiest way to build external plugins is to copy the plugin directory into QupZilla's source tree (eg. into src/plugins). Then start compiling with qmake (make sure, that this is for qt5), make, make install

    6. Finally solved the problem, without compiling :-)
The reason for the problem is quite simple. Error was: "/usr/share/hunspellde_DE" doesn't exists!!", but they are actually there. One may notice that there is no slash between hunspell and de_DE. So I went to the preferences for spell checking (right click menu) and added the slash at the end of the line "/usr/share/hunspell" by hand. Et voila: it now works. So for me it looks like there is a small error at fining the right path to the dicts.
Now I'm happy with your fantastic browser, which is (almost) perfect.

  12. Thanx for this browser! Can't find why speech buttons doesn't appear on translate.google.ru (.com). I've tried with disabled Click To Flash and AdBlock. It's not only in 1.8.3, it was in previous versions i used. Windows XP SP3.
Благодарю за браузер! Не появляется кнопка для произношения текста на translate.google.ru (.com). Пробовал без Click To Flash и AdBlock. Это не только в 1.8.3, а и во всех предыдущих версиях что я помню. Windows XP SP3.

    3. Hi, thanks for the council, but it worked better change agent:
      Mozilla / 5.0 (Windows 8) AppleWebKit / 537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome / 27.0.1453.116 Safari / 537.36
Do I need to disable Java script or page view mobile version
I think it is because I use windows 8.1

But Only the agent is working properly, when you do not change and restart the browser, when you reboot and load the page again, it fails again.
